You can use Apple Intelligence and the new Siri AI beta in India on a supported iPhone, but your language settings matter. Set both the iPhone and Siri to the same supported English language, update iOS, then turn the features on in Settings.
What is available in India?
Apple Intelligence is the group of writing, image, photo and notification features built into supported Apple devices. Siri AI is the more conversational assistant experience, currently offered as a beta in English. They are related, but turning on Apple Intelligence does not automatically mean you have completed Siri AI setup.
Which iPhones support it?
Apple lists iPhone 16 models and later, plus iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, as compatible with Apple Intelligence. Newer eligible iPhone models sold in India are included. Check Apple’s compatibility list for your exact model before changing settings.
Apple says the models need storage for the on-device components. Its current guidance lists up to 8GB on most eligible devices and up to 14GB on select newer models. Leave room for the download and keep the phone on Wi-Fi and power while it finishes.
How to turn on Siri AI in India
- Update iOS. Open Settings > General > Software Update and install the latest compatible iOS release.
- Match your language settings. In Settings > General > Language & Region, choose a supported English language. Then open Siri settings and choose the same language for Siri.
- Turn on Apple Intelligence. Open Settings > Apple Intelligence & Siri and enable Apple Intelligence if it is not already on.
- Try the Siri AI beta. In the Siri settings, choose Try Siri AI (Beta) and follow the onscreen steps.
- Wait for setup to finish. Keep the iPhone connected to Wi-Fi and power until the required models download.
What can you use it for?
Writing Tools can rewrite, proofread or summarise selected text. In Photos, Clean Up removes a distracting object from a picture. Image Playground and Genmoji let you make visuals and custom emoji. Siri can handle follow-up questions and, when the relevant information is available, help you find something in Messages or Mail.
If Siri AI does not appear
Check the iPhone model, iOS version and both language settings first. Then confirm Apple Intelligence is on and give the download time to finish. If the beta option is still missing, consult Apple’s current availability and compatibility pages; eligibility can change as Apple expands support.
