Meta Connect 2026 pushed AI further away from the phone and into glasses. Meta announced Muse for AI glasses, launched Ray-Ban Meta Audio, refreshed Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 3), and introduced Meta VR Glasses for spring 2027. For India, the key detail is that Meta has not announced local availability or pricing for these new products.
Ray-Ban Meta Audio is the most practical announcement for everyday use. Meta VR Glasses are the bigger personal-computing bet, but they remain a US-priced product planned for spring 2027. This article explains what Meta announced, what the products cost in the US and what Indian buyers should watch next.
What Meta announced at Connect 2026
Meta’s Connect announcement covers a family of wearable AI products rather than one new headset:
- Muse on AI glasses: Meta says Muse is a personal AI agent rolling out on iOS, Android and muse.ai, with glasses support coming in the next few months. On glasses, it will be able to respond to what you are looking at.
- Ray-Ban Meta Audio: Open-ear audio, calls and Meta AI in a 43-gram frame.
- Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3: A slimmer camera-glasses design with longer battery life, a customisable action button and a new six-microphone array.
- Meta VR Glasses: About 100 grams on the face, with compute, battery and storage in a separate puck.

Ray-Ban Meta Audio and Gen 3 in plain terms
Ray-Ban Meta Audio is the simpler product to understand. It is closer to a pair of open-ear earbuds built into Ray-Ban frames, with calls, music and hands-free Meta AI. Meta says the glasses weigh 43 grams, support a wide range of optical prescriptions and can run for up to 12 hours on one charge.
Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3 is the camera-focused option. It has a 12 MP camera, 3K Ultra HD video, a built-in privacy LED, up to nine hours of battery life and a customisable action button for Meta AI. Meta also says Dolby Atmos spatial video capture is coming later this year.

Meta VR Glasses: spring 2027, US pricing only
Meta VR Glasses are a roadmap product, not something to buy in 2026. Meta says they will go on sale in spring 2027 for $1,299.99 in the US. The glasses weigh about 100 grams, use a 5K Infinite Display based on micro-OLED panels and include Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.
The separate puck carries the Snapdragon Reality Elite processor, storage and battery. Meta says it can deliver up to three hours of continuous high-resolution media playback and supports 45W fast charging. The system is designed for private cinema, immersive sports and a multi-panel workspace that can turn a flat surface into a keyboard and touchpad. Meta says controllers are not needed for the main experience.
India availability and the privacy questions
Meta’s current glasses expansion list names Singapore, South Korea, Mexico and the United Arab Emirates, with Brazil coming soon. A later list includes Turkey, Poland, Portugal, Israel, South Africa, Indonesia, Thailand, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Malaysia and the Philippines. India is not included in those lists, so there is no official India price for Ray-Ban Meta Audio, Gen 3 or Meta VR Glasses yet.
That also leaves local warranty, prescription support, fitting services and authorised repairs unresolved. A US or UAE purchase may not receive the same support as a local launch. Grey-import rupee conversions are guesses until Meta or EssilorLuxottica publishes an India storefront price.
Meta’s own Muse announcement says the service does not share a person’s conversations or Muse Secure VM data with Meta’s ad systems, and that people can opt out of their interactions being used to train Meta’s AI models. That is Meta’s stated policy, not an independent privacy audit. Meta also says its AI glasses use a capture LED that blinks while photos or videos are being recorded. Our Gemini security explainer covers why the permissions given to an AI agent matter beyond the feature list.

For now, Ray-Ban Meta Audio is the everyday product worth watching. Gen 3 is the camera upgrade path. Meta VR Glasses are the more ambitious platform, but their spring 2027 launch and US-only price mean there is no India buying decision to make yet.
