The Pascal Series is finally here in India: both the 1080 and 1070. Pascal is NVIDIA’s fastest GPU architecture and they outperform every other card out there! The 1070 will be replacing the 970 and 1080 will be replacing the 980. This time, both the cards come with 8GB VRAM. 1080 is reportedly twice as fast as the 980 and has even dethroned the Titan X to become the fastest card out there for gaming. NVIDIA sent out invites for a select few media and we got to check it out first hand and we took it for a spin.

Without getting too much into the specifics and benchmarks, we just wanted to test out the experience of gaming on one. NVIDIA had a huge setup for us to try them out with the latest generation AAA games. We tried them with Witcher 3, Overwatch, Tom Clancy’s Division in Ultra settings and the performance was seamless. But one of the most impressive setup was a triple monitor RIG powered by a 1080 to play Project Cars!

To further showcase the 1080, NVIDIA has a few HTV Vive setups for us to try out. Once again, the experience was seamless and really good. 2016 is the year when VR goes mainstream and the latest generation of cards are ready for that!

The founders edition of 1080 and 1070 is available in the market right now. Founders edition is basically the cards with are not modified and they are the way NVIDIA intended them to be. The 1070 is priced at around Rs. 40,000 and the 1080 is priced at around Rs. 60,000. This is definitely pricey, but it should be worth it for it’s performance. Look out for our detailed review soon!
