Samsung’s One UI 9 update is now rolling out, starting with the Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra. It also arrives on Samsung’s newest foldables, but the useful point for most people is simple: this is an Android 17 update with a few everyday changes rather than a cosmetic refresh.
Samsung says the rollout will expand to more Galaxy devices over time. Availability can differ by country, carrier and model, so an update not appearing on your phone today does not necessarily mean you have been left out.
What is new in One UI 9?
One UI 9 focuses on features that can make a difference in regular use. My FanCam can keep a selected person centred in a video while the scene moves. That could be genuinely handy for school events, sports days and quick family videos where you do not want to edit clips later.
Samsung has also updated Now Brief with more personalised cards and added Now Nudge, which surfaces contextual suggestions. The company is pushing further on privacy and device management too, with Security Brief warnings and simpler device-care tools.

Samsung is making One UI feel more proactive, but the best features are still the ones that save a small amount of effort every day. Check for the update through Settings, make sure you have a backup, and let the rollout come to your device normally.
