Adobe Premiere on Android is now available in India through Google Play. The mobile app has a multi-track timeline, audio tools and free exports up to 4K without a watermark. CapCut has been unavailable in India since 2020, so Premiere offers an official Play Store option for local creators.
What the Android app includes
According to Adobe’s Android launch announcement and Premiere mobile documentation, the free tier covers the editing essentials:
- Multi-track timeline for video, music, text and effects
- Frame-accurate trimming and layered editing
- Enhance Speech and Enhance Audio for dialogue and voiceovers
- Templates, transitions and effects, plus Adobe Stock creative assets
- Exports up to 4K without a watermark or ads
- No mandatory Adobe login for core editing, local saves and export

However, signing in is required for Adobe Stock music and Firefly generative tools. Adobe says generative features use Firefly credits, while core editing, local saves and export do not require an Adobe account.
A few familiar features are not ready yet. Adobe lists auto-generated captions, keyframes, cropping, beat detection and continued desktop handoff as coming later to Android.
Adobe Premiere on Android vs CapCut: the feature differences
Premiere puts the focus on a multi-track timeline and audio tools. CapCut’s draw is its broad set of templates, effects and quick social-video tools.

| Decision point | Adobe Premiere on Android | CapCut |
|---|---|---|
| Captions | Manual titles are available now; auto captions are coming later | Auto captions and text tools are part of CapCut’s published feature set |
| Templates and effects | Creator templates, transitions, effects and Adobe Stock assets | Templates, effects and stickers are central to the app |
| Account and cloud | No login required for core editing and export; sign-in is needed for some Stock and Firefly features | An account, cloud Space or Pro may be required for some workflows |
| AI tools | Firefly generative features use credits | Some AI tools and premium assets require CapCut Pro |
| Export | Adobe says free exports can reach 4K without a watermark or ads | 4K support varies by device and app version. Pro is required when a project uses premium assets or locked export settings |
| Device requirements | Android 13 or later and at least 5GB of RAM | Feature and export support varies by device, app version and region |
| India availability | Officially available through Google Play India | Not officially available through India’s app stores |
Who should use Adobe Premiere on Android?
Premiere suits you if you want a timeline editor, audio cleanup and core editing without a mandatory login. It is worth trying through Google Play if those basics cover your workflow. If you depend on auto captions, keyframes or a deep library of social templates, it may not replace the tools you already use.
