Google’s latest Android feature drop is a set of new Android features that feel more useful when you look at the smaller additions. There is no single headline feature here. Instead, Google is giving Android phones a handful of practical tools around finding things, messaging and accessibility.
Not every feature will land on every Android phone in India immediately. Google is clear that some depend on the Android version, Gemini availability and region. Here are the five changes worth knowing about.
Find Hub is one of the new Android features
Find Hub can now help you remember the last place you saw an everyday item, including things you are not tracking with a Bluetooth tag. It is an interesting use of Gemini, but treat it as a helpful nudge rather than a replacement for keeping an eye on your wallet or keys. Google says it is for Android 16 and newer in supported countries.
Motion Assist is one of the new Android features
Motion Assist is designed to make reading or using a phone in a moving car less uncomfortable. It uses visual cues to help reduce motion sickness. This feature needs Android 17, so it will take longer to reach most people.
Gemini Guided Vision is an accessibility tool
Guided Vision lets a person ask Gemini Live to describe what is in front of the phone camera, help with fine print and provide prompts. It can be useful, but Google says it is not meant for navigation, obstacle detection or medical advice.
Google Keep inside Messages and new chat themes
You can now use Google Keep in Google Messages, which should make it easier to share a shopping list or note while planning something over chat. Google Messages is also getting more chat themes for customising conversations.
My take
The useful thing about this Android drop is that it does not ask you to learn a brand-new workflow. Find Hub, Keep in Messages and the accessibility work can become part of your regular phone use. Update your apps, check for a system update and do not be surprised if a feature takes a little time to reach your device.
