HTC finally unwrapped the all new HTC one (M8) after quite a few leaks all over the web. Just the previous flagship phone, The all new HTC One (M8) is a beast underhood yet looks real smart. There has been no compromise on the build quality as observed in the renders.

It packs a 5-inch, 1080 x 1920 display & runs on a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 (MSM8974-AB) SoC coupled with 2GB of RAM. Although it slightly falls short of the 3GB RAM offered in Samsung’s Galaxy S5.

Interestingly, it comes with 2 5MP cameras on the rear along with LED flash. HTC is calling it ‘Duo Cameras’ and we are waiting to take it on a test ride. Also, HTC has taken selfies seriously, end result being a 5MP front facing camera.

The device supports 2G, 3G and 4G LTE , Bluetooth 4.0, and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac and of course the not so wide spread NFC. It also carries an IR blaster on top as well, and lets users control HTC Sense TV.

Coming to the storage capability, it comes in 3 versions. 16GB, 32GB & A 64GB model. Also, it has a MicroSD slot that can read upto 128GB SD cards. The original HTC  One lacked this.

The battery has been bumped a little and now stands at 2600mAH. Which is a slight improvement from the original version. On the software side, it runs on the latest version of android, KitKat 4.4.2 and not to forget HTC’s sense 6 UI.

Just like its predecessor, HTC confirmed that there would be a Google Play Edition along with a developer version with Unlocked Bootloader.

There are 4 color options one can pick from, including Gun Metal, Gray, Silver, Gold and Black. The carrier locked versions are priced between 199-249$ whereas the Google Play Edition is priced at 699$
