Google has been at work to push the stock Android apps to the play store. This move is highly welcomed since one does not require to wait for the major OS update to get a small bug fixed. It makes a lot of sense to put these apps onto the play store in an effort to provide better updates. This in turn allows Google to have more control over the apps.

The latest app to join this list is the stock Email app, Google has reportedly beefed up security for Gmail accounts, improved the account setup flow, added printing to the app, and fixed many “other bugs”

Like in most of the cases, these apps are ONLY available for the recent Nexus devices. Interestingly, the Google Play Edition devices including the Samsung Galaxy S4 and the HTC One M7 lack support for at the moment.

You can either wait for Google to push the update or simply head over to Android Police to download the APK for your side loading pleasure.
