Another day and another Flagship-killer announcement from a Chinese OEM. More or less it has become a fashion for the Chinese OEM’s to show who is the real boss to others, while they have been known to produce “cheap” smart phones with poor internals and shady build quality, they have taken upon themselves to change that. As covered in a previous article on how the Chinese OEM’s are turning the tide, The IUNI U3 is another example of their efforts.
IUNI, a lesser known brand which is an off shoot of the somewhat famous Gionee looks to steal the flagship killer title from the OnePlus One. The specfication list looks more than impressive and for the price tag it simply throws away the competition.
It has 5.5-inch 2560 x 1440p display (2K display) which measures to a whooping 538 ppi screen. It has slim bezels and display takes up 77% of the device’s body.
INUI U3 is powered by a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 SoC from Qualcomm coupled with 3GB of RAM. It comes with 32GB of storage space which is further expandable. On the rear it packs a 13 mega-pixel f/2.0 camera along with a flash and on the front it sports a 4 megapixel ‘Ultra Pixel’ front camera lifted off from HTC One M7. This camera hardware is a new addition among Chinese OEM’s. The device is backed up by a strong 3000mAh battery.
On the network side, it is supports Dual Sim and is LTE ready. Unlike the previous IUNI U2, is expected to come with a full-english ROM based on KitKat 4.4.4 to cater to the international customers.
The device will be available for sale starting next month in 3 different color options (White, Green & Black) at a Price tag of $325.
