Bee Frontier and Bee Eclipse are Amazon’s two new button-activated AI recorders. When switched on, they turn conversations into summaries. Suggested to-dos are part of the paid Bee Pro plan. Amazon says the audio is deleted after processing. Frontier is a $74.99 wristband that also clips onto clothing, and it is on sale now in the US through Amazon.com. Eclipse is a $99.99 card that sticks magnetically to the back of your phone and records both sides of your calls. Amazon says it is coming soon. Neither device has been announced for India, so treat the dollar prices as US prices, not a preview of what they might cost here.
Amazon announced both devices on 15 October. They are the first new Bee hardware since the startup joined Amazon in 2025. Bee now has a paid tier called Bee Pro, and the features that tie Bee into Alexa+ and Amazon shopping sit behind it.

What Bee actually does with your conversations
Bee is not a voice assistant you talk to, like an Echo speaker. When you switch it on, it keeps listening to whatever is said around you and builds a record of your day. Afterwards, the Bee app on iPhone or Android shows a summary of each conversation, the action items it picked up, and reminders such as the dish soap you said you would buy. You can search past conversations, use templates for things like lectures, care plans or brainstorming sessions, and have Bee point out themes that keep coming up.
The device has a single button. One press starts or stops listening, a long press saves a voice note, and a double press bookmarks a moment so you can find it later. Bee says it supports more than 40 languages. By default the microphones switch off after a stretch of silence, and you can set that timeout anywhere from 5 minutes to 24 hours.
Connect Bee to Gmail, Google Calendar or Outlook and it can draft a follow-up email or a calendar invite after a meeting. It can also pull in Apple HealthKit data and your photos. The two new integrations are Amazon’s own. Alexa+ lets you ask an Echo for a meeting summary or your to-dos without picking up your phone. The Amazon.com link can show you products you mentioned in conversation on the Amazon homepage and in the Bee app. Both integrations are opt-in, and both need Bee Pro.
Bee Frontier: the wristband version

Frontier is the new wristband model. It has dual microphones and a battery rated for about a week. Amazon says its noise filtering is designed for places like busy restaurants and open offices. Frontier is rated IP67, so rain, sweat and splashes from the sink should not be a problem. It charges over USB-C, and you can take the pod out of the band and clip it onto a shirt or belt instead.
Bee Eclipse: the phone attachment

Eclipse is for people who would rather not wear a gadget at all. It is roughly the size of a credit card and 4.6mm thick. It is MagSafe-compatible and comes with a metal ring for phones or cases that lack magnets. Eclipse can capture both sides of a phone call, not just your voice, once you start it with the button. The bigger body also allows a bigger battery, which Bee rates at around three weeks.
Amazon gives a family call about holiday plans as an example. Recording the other side of a call makes consent especially important. Amazon says Bee prompts you to get permission from the other people on a call each time you start a recording. That only works if you actually ask them.
Bee Pro subscription: what is free and what costs extra
Both devices come with 30 days of Bee Pro. When the trial ends, Bee Pro costs $11.99 a month or $99.99 a year in the US. If you don’t pay, you drop to Bee Basic. That still processes and summarises your conversations, but it only keeps 14 days of history.
- Free: conversation processing, conversation summaries and 14 days of history.
- Bee Pro: unlimited history, daily summaries, the Mac and Windows desktop app, conversation templates, suggested to-dos, insights and patterns, plus integrations with Gmail, Google Calendar, Outlook, Photos, Health, Alexa and Amazon.com.
- Owners of the older Bee Pioneer: if you bought it before 15 October 2026, you keep the features you already had for free. New features such as the desktop app are part of Bee Pro.
My take: with only 14 days of history, the free tier is mostly a trial. Bee is built to become useful over time as it remembers more of your life, and losing everything older than a fortnight works against that. Plan on the subscription as part of the cost. Over a year, Frontier plus the annual plan comes to about $175 in the US.
What happens to your recordings and transcripts?

Amazon’s privacy pitch is built around Bee Private Compute. According to the company, audio is turned into text and insights in real time and then deleted, so the audio recording is not stored. Transcripts are encrypted with keys that your device creates and controls, and Amazon says no one, including Amazon, can read them unless you share them. You can delete transcripts and summaries whenever you like. If you link Alexa, your Echo uses voice ID to recognise you before it shares your Bee insights.
The Bee pages do list “on-device processing”, but the AI does not run entirely offline. Bee’s own security notes say the generative AI work happens inside Amazon’s isolated cloud environment, with no outside AI providers involved. Amazon says the setup can be checked independently through Sigstore public ledgers. Those are useful safeguards, but your conversations are still processed on Amazon’s servers rather than only on the device.
You also need to consider the other people in the room. The LED shows when Bee is recording, but people may not notice it or know what it means. Camera glasses such as the Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3 face the same criticism, and they have a recording light too. If you use a Bee at work, in a classroom or at a family gathering, tell people it is on, and switch it off when someone asks.
Is Bee available in India?
Not officially. Amazon lists Frontier on Amazon.com in the US, while Eclipse is marked as coming soon. Neither announcement gives an India launch date or rupee price. Bee has not said how well the Alexa+ and Amazon.com shopping features would work outside the US.
The US dollar price is not an India price. Until Amazon confirms local availability, subscription terms and warranty support, I would wait for an official India listing.
Who should consider Bee Frontier or Bee Eclipse
Bee makes the most sense if your work happens in conversations rather than on a keyboard: sales calls, site visits, client meetings, caregiving or lectures. For video calls, the Bee Pro desktop app can already save calls from Zoom and other apps on your computer. The hardware matters for the in-person chats and phone calls that a laptop never hears. Choose Eclipse if most of that happens on the phone and you don’t want something on your wrist. Choose Frontier if your important conversations happen away from your phone.
If you just want an AI assistant you can wear, compare Bee with the camera-equipped glasses covered in our Meta Connect 2026 AI glasses roundup. Glasses answer questions about what you see, while Bee records and summarises what was said.
FAQ
Does Bee record all the time?
Only while it is switched on. One press starts and stops it, an LED shows when it is listening, and you can have it turn itself off after a set period of silence.
Can I use Bee without paying for Bee Pro?
Yes. The free tier gives you conversation summaries and 14 days of history. Unlimited memory, suggested to-dos, the desktop app and the Alexa and Amazon.com integrations require Bee Pro.
Does Bee work with Android phones?
Yes, the Bee app is on Android and iOS. Eclipse is MagSafe-compatible and comes with a metal ring, so you can use it on phones and cases without built-in magnets.
When will Bee Eclipse ship?
Amazon has only said it will be available soon, starting at $99.99. It has not given a date.
