Apple’s model guide identifies A3714 as the iPhone 18 Pro model for India and other regions, and A3717 for the Pro Max. The US versions are A3472 and A3473. Apple’s Thailand specifications list A3714 and A3717 too. That makes the regional model code a more useful check than a shop listing that only says “international” or “global.”
Which iPhone 18 Pro 5G bands matter in India?
Apple lists n28 and n78 on the India and Thailand models. Those are the two bands to look for first when comparing the published specifications with Indian 5G networks. The India and Thailand pages list these sub-6 GHz bands: n1, n2, n3, n5, n7, n8, n12, n20, n25, n26, n28, n30, n66, n70 and n75, plus n38, n40, n41, n48, n53, n77, n78 and n79.
There is one more detail worth knowing before importing a US unit. Apple lists the US A3472 and A3473 with additional sub-6 GHz bands n14, n29 and n71, plus mmWave n258, n260 and n261. Apple describes the India and Thailand models as sub-6 GHz only.
Jio’s current 5G support FAQ lists n28, n78 and n258. So there is a paper-spec overlap between Jio’s n258 band and the US iPhone 18 Pro’s mmWave support, while Apple does not list n258 for the India or Thailand models. That does not guarantee a US phone will connect to Jio mmWave in your area. Coverage, carrier configuration and service availability still matter. Check with your operator before importing a phone just for one band.
India vs US vs Thailand: which iPhone 18 Pro should you buy?
India model: The straightforward pick if you live in India and want a physical SIM tray. Apple lists n28 and n78, dual SIM with nano-SIM and eSIM, and dual eSIM support.
Thailand model: On Apple’s published specification sheet, it uses the same A3714/A3717 model numbers and the same sub-6 GHz band list as India. Still check the exact A-number, seller warranty and service terms for the unit you are buying.
US model: It adds mmWave bands, including n258, but has no physical SIM tray. Before importing, make sure your Indian number can be activated and managed as an eSIM. The extra bands are not a reason by themselves to switch if your carrier and location will not use them.
