Short version: Apple Watch Series 12 starts at ₹56,900 in India. The meaningful upgrades are the new Health Sensing System, Readiness scoring and better workout battery. But one headline health feature, Hypertension Notifications, is not available in India at launch.
Apple Watch Series 12 India price
Apple offers the watch in 42mm and 46mm sizes, with aluminium, titanium and ceramic cases depending on the model. Cellular versions cost more, so the final price depends on the size, material and connectivity you choose.
For most first-time buyers, the base aluminium model should be the sensible option. Pay extra for cellular only if you will leave your iPhone behind regularly. The higher-priced cases change the finish more than the core health features.
What the new health sensors actually do
Apple says Series 12 checks heart rate every five seconds and measures heart rate variability up to 24 times more often than before. That gives the Health app more information about your normal pattern across the day.
It does not make the watch a medical device. The benefit is seeing a useful trend over time, rather than treating one unusual reading as an answer.

Readiness is the feature most people will notice
Readiness turns activity, training load, vitals and sleep data into a score from 0 to 10. It is meant to answer a simple question: should you push today, keep things steady or take a break?
That is easier to understand than a page full of charts. Still, the score is only as useful as the data you give it. If you do not wear the watch overnight, or if your workouts are irregular, treat the recommendation as a prompt rather than a rule.

Battery life and charging
Apple rates Series 12 for up to 24 hours of everyday use and up to 10 hours of outdoor workouts. Apple also says it provides 25 percent more workout battery than the previous model under its testing conditions.
Fifteen minutes of charging can add up to 12 hours of battery life. That should make overnight tracking easier, especially if you forgot to charge before bed. Your results will still depend on cellular use, workouts, notifications and battery health.
Audio Intelligence is coming later
Series 12 also supports Audio Intelligence features such as Sound Recognition, Live Rewind and Siri Recap. Apple says these features are planned for beta later in 2026, so I would not buy the watch for them today.
Availability will depend on the paired iPhone, language and region. Apple says the features are opt-in and do not create or store audio recordings. Apple’s privacy explanation is linked below.
What is limited in India?
Hypertension Notifications will not initially be available in India on Series 12 or Apple Watch Ultra 4. Apple says it is still working through additional regulatory clearances.
Siri AI on watchOS 27 is initially a beta in English, with more languages planned later. If you are also setting up Apple Intelligence on an iPhone in India, our Siri AI guide explains what to check first.
Who should buy it?
- First-time Apple Watch buyers: Series 12 is the straightforward choice if you want the newest health features.
- Owners of older models: Readiness, more frequent health measurements and better workout battery are the strongest reasons to upgrade.
- Series 11 owners: Waiting makes sense unless you specifically want those health changes.
- Outdoor users: Consider the Ultra 4 if battery life, durability and outdoor hardware matter more than size or price.
If you are importing an iPhone 18 Pro to use with the watch, check our guide to iPhone 18 Pro 5G bands in India. Cellular support is worth checking before you save money on an imported model.
Bottom line
Apple Watch Series 12 is a health and fitness update rather than a dramatic redesign. The sensors and Readiness score are the useful changes, while the faster charging makes the watch easier to wear overnight. India’s missing Hypertension Notifications are the main caveat.
For a new buyer, Series 12 looks like the safe pick. If you already own Series 11, I would wait unless the new health tracking is exactly what you want.
