A few months back Xiaomi opened their first ever Mi Home store in Bangalore, India and they were committed to opening 100 more stores in the next two years. A few months later, they’ve already expanded to Delhi and the next store seems to be in Chennai. We spotted the following ‘Coming Soon’ Mi Home Store at the Forum Vijaya Mall, Vadapalini in Chennai.
All stores across India will have the same design with wide spaces and consistent lighting to experience the products. Mi Home store is supposed to be a place where you get everything Xiaomi. They usually have all their products in stock which includes their current lineup of phones, power banks, router, Air Purifier and all other accessories. In case the product you want is not in stock, you will get the F-Code to buy the product online. You’ll be able to try out all the products before you buy at the stores. They’re set to opening more stores in Bangalore, Delhi, Hyderabad and Chennai in the coming days.
One thing to note is that there will be no exclusive products in the Mi Home store. You’ll only get the same products Xiaomi sells online. It is an extension into the offline market for the products you already get online. Xiaomi does not sell any of the smart home products that are available in China. This makes my home with more Xiaomi products than the Mi Home store! Some Mi Home stores will feature an experience zone with products not yet launched in India. It is not yet clear if the Chennai Mi Home store is one such.
It is good to see Xiaomi opening up a store in Chennai and we’d like to tell: Welcome to Namma Chennai. However, Xiaomi India is yet to officially announce the date the store will start functioning.
