Xiaomi launched a shiny new device “Xiaomi Note 2” a few weeks back in their home market, It’s launched has been delayed due to a patent infringement lawsuit filed by Ericsson. The device runs on MediaTek’s Helio X10 chipset, as a result of the lawsuit Xiaomi is barred from importing and selling devices that run on MediaTek chipset.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 launch delayed in India

Delay of the launch has left lot of Indian fans disappointed as widely noted in social media. It’s available in both black and white variations. Xiaomi officially launched the devices with multiple colours as noticed always with the brand, the coloured version is ridiculously hard to buy.

Redmi Note 2 features a 5.5-inch Full HD display with 401ppi, 13MP rear-facing camera and 5MP front camera. All this backed with a 3,060mAh battery and 4G LTE just like the previous version of the phone. It’s powered by Helio X10 processor is a 2GB RAM and 32GB expandable storage. The handset runs on the latest Android 5.1 Lollipop with MIUI 7 on top.

As with the press meet attended a few months back, Xiaomi promised the release of kernel sources for new devices within 3 months of launch. We’re hoping to see they keep their word.
