It is 18th already! Apple would start seeding iOS 7 for the public from today. In India the OTA update is expected around 10-10.30 PM IST.
Not every iOS device is capable of being upgraded to iOS 7.
iPhones supporting iOS 7 :
- iPhone 4,
- iPhone 4s, and
- iPhone 5.
- iPhone 5c
- iPhone 5s
iPads that support iOS 7 :
- iPad 2
- iPad 3
- iPad 4
- iPad mini
If you have any of the above mentioned iDevice, you’re eligible for the OTA update. The fifth generation iPod touch is also iOS 7 upgradeable.
Please note that to receive the OTA you need a iDevice that is NOT jailbroken and has iOS 6.x.x . Also , if you’re on any of the iOS 7 beta or GM release, you would have to connect to iTunes since you wouldn’t receive the OTA.
Here are a few quick tips to have a smooth update :
- Before updating to iOS 7, remove unused apps from your device.
- In view of the launch, many apps have already been updated so open the App Store and update all your apps prior to updating to iOS 7.
