OnePlus has topped its previous flagship device once again, with more new features and innovations. OnePlus Founder and CEO Pete Lau took to the stage in Delhi to unveil the company’s latest offering, OnePlus 6T. With OnePlus’s 6-month release cycle, T updates usually come with incremental upgrades. However, this one feels huge.
The biggest change this year straightaway is the on-screen fingerprint sensor. OnePlus has achieved having a reliable fingerprint sensor on the front, without compromising on the screen size. The phone authenticates the user by lighting up the screen and reading the finger above it. Also, with the fingerprint moved to the front, the back has a cleaner, flush look.
The next change is the screen size, which is now at 6.41 inches. OnePlus has made the notch much smaller, giving more space to the screen and made the bezels smaller. With an aspect ratio of 19.5:9, the screen is a lot more durable with Corning Gorilla Glass 6.
On the back, the phone comes in black with two variants. The first one is mirror black, same as the last year. The second version is midnight black, which has a silky look and feel to it.
On the internal side, the OnePlus 6T comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 and an upgraded 3,700 mAh battery. On the software side, the phone ships with OxygenOS based on Android Pie, and OnePlus has added a new night mode to the camera for better low-light performance.
OnePlus 6T comes in three different variants, depending on the RAM and the ROM. It starts at Rs. 37,999 for 6GB RAM, with 128 GB ROM. Upgrading the RAM to 8GB with the same 128GB ROM costs Rs. 41,999. Finally, the top variant comes with 8GB RAM and 256 GB ROM for Rs. 45,999.
