LeEco announced the 2nd generation of Le 2 and Le Max 2 here in India. This time it was really quick from LeEco and they brought the phones to India in just about two months.

Le 2

Le 2 is the successor to the hugely popular Le 1s. It has the Same 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM, but is powered by an Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdradon 652. In the camera part, it has been increased to 16MP Rear Camera and 8MP Front Camera. The Le 2 is priced at Rs. 11,999. The phone also comes with one year LeEco Membership worth Rs. 4,900. The registration for Le 2 will start on June 20th and the first flash sale will happen early July.

Le Max 2

The second product announced in the event was a successor to the Le Max, which is Le Max 2. The Le Max 2 is powered by the latest and greatest, Snapdragon 820. This year, the screen size of Le Max 2 has been reduced to 5.7″ with a 2K screen. Unlike last year’s Le Max, this year’s model comes in two different variants. The first one comes with 4GB RAM and 32GB ROM, priced at Rs. 22,999. The second variant comes with 6GB RAM and 64GB ROM, priced at Rs. 29,999. Like the Le 2, Le Max 2 also comes with one year LeEco Membership worth Rs. 4,900. Registration for Le Max 2 will start on June 20th and the first flash sale will be on June 28th.

CDLA

One  of the biggest change to LeEco phones this year is the CDLA Type-C interface. LeEco has gone ahead and removed the 3.5mm headphone jack which is a bold move. But in reality, the 3.5mm headphone jack is an inferior technology and we’ve been stuck with it for decades and this is much needed. The switch from 3.5mm to CDLA is a huge step forward which can push out high quality lossless audio. The CDLA headphones are not included in the box, but you can get one for Rs. 1,999. I got to try it for a limited time, and I am definitely sure it is worth the upgrade.

TV

I was heavily disappointed when no TVs were announced at the event because a lot of rumours were pointing towards it.  But the keynote ended with the following slide which is a clear indication of their next announcement which should happen soon….. TVs!
