Asus released it’s high end device as the Zenfone 2 this year. To top that, they released the Zenfone 2 Deluxe to improve upon the already amazing Zenfone 2. The first thing about this device is the design. It comes with the same arc finish which makes holding the device comfortable. But what gives it the premium finish is its back which comes with a diamond cut finish. It feels amazing in your hands.
The screen is a 1080p 5.5 inch IPS display with Gorilla Glass 3. It has a pixel density of 403ppi. One unique feature about the screen is that it recognises touch even while wearing gloves. Phones in this price point do not usually have that feature.
Coming to the hardware, Zenfone 2 Deluxe runs on Intel Atom Z3580 2.3Ghz 64-Bit Processor and 4 GB of RAM(’cause why not?). It’s available in two different storage options – 64 and 128GB. Although, in come countries the device comes with a whopping 256GB of internal storage. Hope that makes its way to India soon. It is a dual SIM phone with 4G LTE.
Asus has put a lot of work in the camera department of every device it launched recently and it is no different on the Zenfone 2 Deluxe. It improves upon the camera of already amazing Zenfone 2. The camera comes with a standard 13MP front camera with dual tone flash and 5MP back camera. It has a variety of modes like, front panorama, HDR, high resolution 52MP photos. It also comes with a manual mode where you can control every aspect of the camera. The camera is faster than ever and really snappy. Overall, I am really impressed with the camera on this device.
Coming to the software, it is the same like every other Asus device. It comes with it’s own launcher and a few pre loaded apps. Some may find it useful and for some it is just bloatware. Also, the phone comes with a one hand mode which can be adjusted very easily.
When it comes to performance, we do not run benchmarks or do any crazy tests. We just use it in different everyday scenarios. This way, I found the device to be really fast and did not lag once. The 4GB RAM is really helping the device.
It comes with a 3000mAh non removable battery. This battery is good enough to easily last you one full day. In case you play a lot of games and drain the battery really fast, it comes with fast charging which go from 0 to 60 in 40 minutes.
Verdict:Asus Zenfone 2 Deluxe is not a flagship killer and Asus does not claim it to be one. But it sure does kill the other phones which claim to be the flagship killer. It is impressive with the amount of features Asus has packed into this device at this price point.
