Xiaomi, which recently announced their next flagship phone Mi 5 for China just launched their next device for India, Redmi Note 3 at an event in Delhi attended by both Media and Fans. Redmi Note 3 comes with two different Chipsets in China: Snapdragon and MediaTek. However for India, they are releasing the Snapdragon version only.
The Redmi Note 3 has an impressive metal body and a fingerprint scanner on it’s back right below the camera. It has a 16MP primary camera and 5MP secondary camera. The Redmi Note 3 has a 5.5 inch 1080P display which looks sharp enough with 4050mAh battery. It runs on a hexacore Snapdragon 650 processor, 2/3GB RAM and 16/32GB storage which is expandable.
Redmi Note 3 runs on Android 5.1 with a custom skin MiUI. There is no app drawer and all apps are placed on the homescreen. Also, the device has support for USB OTG.
The Redmi Note 3 definitely looks impressive. Redmi Note 3 is the third device from Xiaomi that is made in India. The phone comes in tow different variants. The 16GB version with 2GB RAM is priced at Rs.9,999 and the 32GB version with 3GB RAM is priced at Rs.12,000. At this price point, Xiaomi is offering a lot! Redmi Note 3 will be sold exclusively on Amazon and Mi.com for a while and can be purchased from March 9th, 2pm. Right before leaving, Hugo also announced that Mi 5 will be available in India in less than a month!
