The vivo S2 FE price in India starts at ₹38,999 for 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, and the 8GB model costs ₹42,999. Sales begin on 20 October. What you are paying for is one thing: a 10,000mAh battery in a phone that weighs about 225g. Almost everything else, from the Dimensity 7300e chip to the two-camera setup, is what you would expect from a much cheaper phone.
That makes the S2 FE an easy recommendation for a small group of people and a hard one for everyone else. If you spend the day on navigation, hotspot and calls, away from a charger, it could be the phone you need. If you want a fast phone, a versatile camera or tap-to-pay, there are better-balanced phones around the same price point.
vivo S2 FE price in India, sale date and offers
| Variant | Price |
|---|---|
| 6GB RAM + 128GB storage | ₹38,999 |
| 8GB RAM + 128GB storage | ₹42,999 |
vivo says the phone goes on sale on 20 October 2026 through its own website, Flipkart, Amazon and partner retail stores, in Stellar Green, Zen White and Titan Black. Both variants have 128GB of storage and no memory card slot. The extra ₹4,000 buys 2GB more RAM and, according to vivo’s specification footnote, Dual View recording from the front and rear cameras.
The launch offers differ slightly between online and offline stores:
- Online: up to 10% instant discount with selected banks, a 10% exchange bonus and up to 12 months of no-cost EMI.
- Offline: up to 10% instant cashback with selected banks and UPI, up to 10% exchange bonus, up to 15 months of zero down payment with some finance partners, and up to 40% off vivo’s V-Shield screen protection and extended warranty plans.
- Both: one year of free extended warranty (for purchases from 19 to 26 October), six months of Google One 100GB storage, and six months of Jio’s bundle of 10 OTT apps if you are on Jio’s ₹1,199 prepaid plan.
vivo also lists a JioHotstar offer for new subscribers, but says it is not live yet and has no confirmed start date. Do not count it when you work out the price.
The 10,000mAh battery is the whole point

The battery is 10,000mAh typical, or 9,800mAh rated, and vivo says none of the phones it had launched in India up to late September had a bigger one. vivo’s lab figures, with the screen at 150 nits on Wi-Fi, include 30 hours of video playback, 15.8 hours of gaming and 68 hours of calls on a full charge. Its “intensive use” test claims 12 hours of mixed use with 33% still left. Treat these as best-case numbers. Even if real use falls well short, that leaves a lot of headroom for heavy users.
A few battery details matter more than the headline number:
- 44W charging, charger in the box. vivo includes the charger, which many brands no longer do. A 10,000mAh battery will take longer to refill than smaller, faster-charging rivals, so do not expect a quick top-up to replace a full charge.
- Lifespan claim. vivo says the battery keeps at least 80% of its capacity after 1,400 full cycles. Its “seven years” figure assumes one full charge every 1.83 days, which is what a battery this large allows.
- Reverse charging at 6W. Useful for topping up earbuds or a friend’s phone over USB-C. It is not a replacement for a power bank.
- Heat and cold. vivo claims stable power from -30°C to 45°C, with 16 hours of navigation at 45°C in its tests. That is relevant if you ride a bike through a north Indian summer.
The Guinness World Records title in vivo’s marketing needs some context. The record, 32 hours 37 minutes of continuous live streaming, was set in Thailand by the vivo V80 Lite 5G, which vivo sells in India as the S2 FE. vivo identifies it as the India-market name for that model, but the record does not show how long the phone lasts in normal use.
Performance: a Dimensity 7300e at ₹38,999
The MediaTek Dimensity 7300e is a 6nm chip with four 2.5GHz and four 2.0GHz cores, paired with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. vivo quotes an AnTuTu score of up to 9 lakh, which is fine for social apps, maps, UPI and video. It is not built for heavy gaming at high settings, and at this price that is a real compromise.

vivo has fitted a 3,800 square mm vapour chamber, which should help during long navigation sessions, video calls and charging in the heat. Better cooling keeps a mid-range chip steady. It does not make it faster.
Display, cameras and durability
The 6.83-inch AMOLED screen is the other strong part. It has a 2800 x 1260 resolution, HDR10+ support, a 120Hz refresh rate in supported apps and 2,000 nits of high brightness mode, which vivo says keeps maps and messages readable in direct sun.
The cameras are basic for a ₹39,000 phone. The rear has a 50MP Sony main sensor at f/1.8 and a 2MP depth sensor, with no ultra-wide or telephoto lens. The 32MP front camera has a 90-degree field of view for group selfies. vivo’s AI Erase tool for removing people from photos needs an internet connection.

Durability is where vivo has clearly spent money. The phone is rated IP68 and IP69 for dust and water, and vivo says it has passed MIL-STD-810H tests for heat, cold, rain, sand and dust, and shock. The company also claims a 29% low-frequency signal boost from its dual antenna design, aimed at people who work in areas with weak coverage. The usual caveat applies: vivo does not cover liquid damage under warranty, IP rating or not.
For a 10,000mAh phone, the body is reasonable. It is 8.59mm thick and weighs 224g in Stellar Green and Titan Black, and 8.69mm and 225g in Zen White. The back is a plastic composite.
What you give up: NFC, USB 2.0 and storage
vivo’s specification sheet lists a few omissions that are easy to miss in the marketing:
- No NFC. That rules out tap-to-pay and NFC accessories.
- USB 2.0. Fine for charging, slow for moving large video files to a laptop.
- 128GB only, with no expansion. A heavy photo and WhatsApp media user will fill it within a couple of years.
- Dual-band Wi-Fi. 2.4GHz and 5GHz only, so no Wi-Fi 6 or newer.
Software and updates
The S2 FE runs OriginOS 6 on Android 16, with Gemini, vivo’s AI writing and live caption tools, Origin Island and a Private Space for sensitive apps and photos. vivo has not stated an S2 FE software-support commitment on the official pages checked. Do not assume the update policy of another S-series phone applies here; confirm the terms with vivo if long-term updates affect your decision.
For the wider India schedule, see our OriginOS 7 rollout guide. That timeline is separate from a guarantee about how many future versions the S2 FE will receive.
vivo S2 FE vs vivo V80
vivo launched the S2 FE at the same event as the vivo V80, and the two show where vivo has put your money.
| vivo S2 FE | vivo V80 | |
|---|---|---|
| Starting price | ₹38,999 (6GB/128GB) | ₹62,999 (8GB/128GB) |
| Processor | Dimensity 7300e | Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 |
| Battery and charging | 10,000mAh, 44W | 7,200mAh, 90W |
| Display | 6.83-inch AMOLED, 120Hz | 6.59-inch AMOLED, 144Hz |
| Rear cameras | 50MP main, 2MP depth | 50MP OIS main, 50MP 3x telephoto, 8MP ultra-wide |
| Front camera | 32MP | 50MP |
| Software at launch | OriginOS 6, Android 16 | OriginOS 7, Android 17 |
The V80 is the better phone in almost every way, and it costs ₹24,000 more. The S2 FE wins on battery capacity and price, and loses on charging speed, cameras, chip and software version.
Around the S2 FE’s price point, it is worth comparing phones that trade some battery capacity for faster charging, stronger performance or more storage. Our best phones under ₹50,000 guide covers those alternatives. If cameras matter most, see our camera phones under ₹40,000 picks. Check current prices before choosing either way.
Who should buy the vivo S2 FE?
Buy it if battery life comes before everything else and you want a tough phone: delivery and field sales work, long commutes on a two-wheeler, travel with patchy charging, or a parent who forgets to charge every night. The IP69 rating, the charger in the box and the claimed signal boost all fit that use. In that case, the 6GB model at ₹38,999 is the better value. A qualifying 10% bank offer could lower the checkout price, but check its terms before relying on it.
Skip it if you game, shoot a lot of photos, want tap-to-pay, or keep a lot of media on your phone. At full price, the S2 FE asks you to put battery life ahead of performance, camera flexibility and storage.
