GIFs are being shared like never before, with websites like 9Gag and Imgur are filled with user created GIF’s. For a long time, the only major social network that support GIF’s was Google+, now Twitter has decided to support them. Twitter took to it’s official support account to announce its move to add support to GIFs.

GIFs support is being added across the website and most of the official mobile apps, including the official Android and iOS apps. GIFs appear as still images at first, but hitting the play button brings them to life similar to other websites. This certainly will change the amount of posts on Twitte
