Asus to launch Android Wear smartwatch in September

Asus are reportedly planning to launch an Android Smartwatch with a budget price tag. After Motorola, Samsung and LG unveiled their first set of smartwatches running Android Wear, The Taiwanese computer manufacturer, Asus is set to join the race in Anroid Wear Arena.

The device will have an AMOLED display, and it will come at a price point that may prove quite compelling between $99 and $149 and is expected to launch in September. It is not the first time that news of the Taiwanese device maker working on a smartwatch has appeared online. In March,Asus chairman Jonney Shih had suggested that the company was working on a wearable device that will be capable of being controlled using voice commands or customizable hand movements.

A tweet by reputable device leaker @evleaks stated that the code name for ASUS’ Android Wear smartwatch is called ‘Robin’ and “aims to be the thinnest device in the category.’ Further details of this Smartwatch is still unknown.
