Samsung is adding Hungarian and Malay to Galaxy AI’s translation tools, Gujarati to Now Nudge, and Polish, Thai and Vietnamese to Bixby. For Indian users, Gujarati in Now Nudge is the most noticeable change; Bixby still doesn’t support Hindi or Gujarati.
What Samsung added
Samsung’s October 14 announcement expands three different parts of its software. Call Assist, Note Assist, Interpreter and Transcript Assist add Hungarian and Malay, taking Live Translate to 24 languages. Now Nudge adds eight languages, including Gujarati, and also reaches 24. Bixby gains Polish, Thai and Vietnamese, bringing its total to 12 languages.
| Feature | Languages added | Total |
|---|---|---|
| Call Assist, Note Assist, Interpreter and Transcript Assist | Hungarian, Malay | 24 for Live Translate |
| Now Nudge | Dutch, Filipino, Gujarati, Hungarian, Malay, Romanian, Swedish, Turkish | 24 |
| Bixby | Polish, Thai, Vietnamese | 12 |
What changes for Galaxy users in India
Hindi and Gujarati were already supported by Galaxy AI’s translation and transcription tools, so this isn’t a new Hindi translation feature. The India-specific addition is Gujarati in Now Nudge, which suggests actions based on what is on your screen. Hindi isn’t in the new Now Nudge languages.
Bixby supports English (India), but it still has no Hindi or Gujarati option. If you use Bixby to find settings or control your phone by voice, that limitation remains. Samsung says it may add more languages later but hasn’t named any.
Bixby’s language limits
Bixby’s 12 languages are Chinese (China mainland); English (India, UK and US); French; German; Italian; Japanese; Korean; Polish; Portuguese (Brazil); Spanish (Latin America and Spain); Thai; and Vietnamese. It needs a Samsung Account and a data connection. Samsung says availability varies by country, region and language, and that accents, dialects, pronunciation, voice level and background noise can affect recognition. Bixby may also be limited during calls, while recording, or in some power-saving and emergency modes.
When the new languages arrive
Bixby’s new languages began rolling out on October 14. The Galaxy AI additions will follow over the coming weeks. Samsung says timing and features vary by device and country, and it hasn’t published an eligible-device list for this update. Some new Galaxy AI languages will be downloadable as language packs in Settings.
