Little over a week, Xolo launched its first windows mobile based smartphone. Micromax has now followed suite and has launched two devices priced under 10,000 INR. Microsoft made the announcement on the launch of two devices powered by its Windows Phone 8.1 OS.

The reason for such cheap priced Windows Phone is because Microsoft removed the licensing fees for Indian OEM’s a few months back along with the announcement of partnership with new OEM Manufacturers.

The Canvas Win W121 and The Canvas Win W092 are the first windows mobile based devices from an Indian manufacturer. Micromax Canvas Win W121 has been priced at Rs 9,500 and the 4-inch Canvas Win W092 will be priced at Rs 6,500 making this the most affordable Windows Phone device in the market.

The Canvas Win W121 is a 5-inch device with a wonderful looking HD IPS display, an 8 megapixel rear camera (with LED flash), a 2 megapixel front-facing camera, and 8GB of built in storage with up to 32GB of expandable memory for all your photos, music, and videos. It comes powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 quad-core processor with 1GB of memory – so it’s also very powerful. Additionally, the Canvas Win W121 is equipped with proximity, gravity, and light sensors, an accelerometer, Dual-SIM capability, and comes with a leather finish back panel.

The Canvas Win W092 is a 4-inch device with a IPS WVGA display, a 5 megapixel rear camera (with LED flash), a 0.3 megapixel front-facing camera, and 8GB of built in storage with up to 32GB of expandable memory just like the Canvas Win 121. And just like the Canvas Win W121, the Canvas Win W092 is also powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 quad-core processor and 1GB of memory.

The Canvas Win W121 and Canvas Win W092 will be available in retailers across India starting July 2014.
